El Grifo Wine Museum

The El Griffo Wine Museum is the oldest winery in the Canaries and one of the top 10 oldest in Spain.

While the buildings themselves are of some historical importance, so too are the ancient tools and machinery which have been preserved and are now on show in the wine museum. People who have some knowledge of wine-making would observe that the evolution of the wine making was not very different here than in other wine making countries, however in Lanzarote, due to its remoteness and communication problems, this evolution was several decades behind. This allows the observation of methods and machinery which were no longer in use anywhere else during the twentieth century.
